In the It-Was-Bound-To-Happen-Eventually file, Peter Beinart’s talk at a Jewish book festival in Atlanta was cancelled due to his daring to question the political dominance of Israel controversial views on Zionism. Still allowed to speak: Tony Danza.

Postscript the first: the two-person Free Palestine protest outside of NYU today metastasized into a twenty person street debate. When I walked by, voices were raised, but the arguments were substantive. Moral of the story: controversy can be generative.

Postscript the second: The Tony Danza Wikipedia page is hysterical.
